"My little brother was such an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a man of few words but the words he said had more meaning than the ramblings of most. The thing that sticks we me the most was after my daughter passed away the family gathered and after a while they were gone, on with their lives, and I was left to continue on the best way I knew how. Growing up Mike and I were 1 year apart and when one got in trouble the other was right there. He lived in Florida and I in NY but he felt my pain and desperation over the miles. He said to me "shit happens in life Marla and you just have to keep breathing and go on". That meant more to me than all the insightful words from everyone else. And that is how he lived his life. He had little chance to live when he was born but he kept breathing and went on. I knew if he could do it I could do it. He gave everything to everyone and kept nothing for himself. That is the way the Lord wants all of us to live and he accomplished it effortlessly. Even though we spent our adult lives apart we instantly found the bond we had made when we were kids! We were the "little kids" and damn proud of it!"
"Mike is now in the arms of the angels. To his siblings, my prayer is God's comfort and care to pass all understanding in grief"
