Mary Jo Towne, 69, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away, Saturday, January 28, 2012, at the Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa. She was born April 20, 1942, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, to Melville and Mildred Ione (Olmstead) Jacobson. Mary graduated from Iowa Falls High School in Iowa Falls, Iowa. She was married to Larry E. Towne on June 20, 1987, in Eldora, Iowa. Mary worked in the Home Health Care field until her retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Hampton, where she was an active member. Mary was an animal enthusiast, she loved her pets, especially her two dogs Dolly and Murphy and she was also a member of the Humane Society. She is survived by her daughter Jackie & husband Bryan Love of Greenwich, Ohio, son Jerry & wife Kim Mitchell of Johnston, daughter Julie & husband Keith Rau of Iowa Falls, daughter Jodi Jensen of Iowa Falls, daughter Jennifer Wilfong-Henry-Snyder of Bell Center, Ohio, son Joe & wife Laura Mitchell of Omaha, Nebraska, daughter Angie Campbell-Mello of Iowa Falls, sister Karen & husband Stan Abkes of Iowa Falls, seventeen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother.
Burial will take place at the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton, Iowa
