Jeffrey Bain

Jeffrey David Bain, son of Earl David Bain and Linda Sue McGee Bain, was born at Clarinda, Iowa on October 5, 1967, and entered into rest this past Tuesday, January 10, 2006, from injuries received in a auto accident near Tarkio, Missouri. Jeffrey lived 20 years of his life in Shenandoah and spent the remainder of his life in the Pacific Junction and Essex, Iowa areas. He received his GED, and later went to Universal Tech in Omaha where he was trained in Refrigeration, Heating and Air Conditioning. He also had received training and certifications in Power Engineer Class, Welding, EPA Technician, ASE Certification, HVACR Card of Proficiency, Certificate of Ice Machines and Reach in Coolers Field Service. Jeff had been employed at Valley Ice, Shenandoah Memorial Hospital, Thomas Wilson Foods, Hines Corp. and Con Agra Foods in Hamburg and St. James, Minnesota. Jeff enjoyed fishing, archery, guns, motorcycles, computers and was an avid reader. He had attained the rank of Life Scout when he was a young man.
Survivors include his mother Linda Bain and friend Richard Powers of Pacific Junction, Iowa; his father David Bain of Essex, Iowa; his sister Jill Gilbert and husband Shannon of Shenandoah; two nieces Natalie and Nichole Gilbert of Shenandoah; great aunts, Susie Woods of Sidney, Iowa and Mary McGee of Onamia, MN; an uncle, Max Bain and his wife Mae of Farragut, Iowa, aunts, Zoann Welchans and husband Raymond of Farragut, Iowa; Judy Powers of Shenandoah, Iowa, and Paula Durst of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; special friend Zuelma and family; other cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held on Friday, January 13, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah. Words of comfort were given by the Pastor Ron Nelson. Attending the memory register were Lisa Royer and Rhonda Powers. Special music was "Wish You Were Here", "On Eagles Wings" and "Dance With Your Father". Casket bearers were Greg Fichter, Steve Alexander, Shannon Gilbert, Ron Powers, Doug Durst and Jim Durst. Honorary casket bearers were Bruce Bain, Tracy Williams, John Durst and Todd Bain. Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
