Francis J. Shaw

Francis Jerome Shaw, the son of Howard Jewitt Shaw and Pauline Amanda (Davis) Shaw, was born at Edenberg, Missouri on January 28, 1937. Francis entered into rest on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Omaha, Nebraska, attaining the age of 72 years, 6 months, 1 day.
Francis grew up in the Trenton, Missouri area. He later moved to Grundy County, Iowa, then to Imogene, Iowa and later to Shenandoah, Iowa. He graduated from high school in Shenandoah and had several years of military schooling in electrical and electronics for aircraft communication systems.
Francis served his country with the Iowa National Guard, 168th Infantry, Company E from 1955-1957, before entering the United States Air Force from 1957-1969.
He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Houston on September 20, 1960 in Shenandoah, Iowa. After their marriage they lived at Travis Air Force Base, California, Keeler Air Force Base, Mississippi, Warrensburg Air Force Base, Missouri, Rainy Air Force Base, Puerto Rico, Zanesville, Ohio, and Shenandoah, Iowa. After 14 years in the Air Force, he moved back to Shenandoah where he help construct the Eaton Manufacturing Plant in Shenandoah, later working at the plant in the maintenance department until his retirement in 1996.
Francis enjoyed working around the house and in the yard, gardening, and visiting with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harry and Paul Shaw and his daughter Janet Shaw.
Survivors include his wife Patricia Shaw of Shenandoah, Iowa; two sons, Rick Shaw of Scottsdale, Arizona and Chris Shaw of Shenandoah, Iowa; three brothers, James Shaw and wife Viola of Ames, Iowa, Jethro Shaw and wife Pat of Shenandoah, Iowa, and Ralph Shaw and wife Christine of Sedalia, Missouri; three and grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
