Howard Rosser

Howard Joseph Rosser was born on September 5, 1921 in Gregory, South Dakota, the son of Elmer N. and Carol (Dewey) Rosser. Howard entered into eternal peace on March 26, 2010 at the Garden View Care Center in Shenandoah following a brave battle with cancer.

Howard's early years were spent in Gregory, South Dakota, where he attended school and graduated. On March 17, 1945 he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country with pride until he was honorable discharged on July 23, 1946. He lived in California for a number of years before returning to Shenandoah. While residing in Shenandoah he worked for Eaton Corporation for some 10 years.

He was a member of the Danh R. Weller Masonic Lodge #765 in Torrance, CA, The Order of the Eastern Star #260 in Gardena, CA, The American Legion in Gregory, SD, the Shenandoah Eagles Club #3849, AMVETS in Shenandoah and the Shenandoah Elks Lodge #1122. Some of his interests included fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Eldora Rosser and a sister Jeanette Blackstone.

He is survived by his loving family Dorothy Cleaveland, Lalaynie and Frank Newsome, Ray and Gwen Markut, Jody Markut and children Hayden and Evan, Nicki and Ben Noordhoek and children Brandon, Brooke and Emily, Corey and Amy Markut and son Xander; other family and dear friends.
