Arlene H. Clough, 82, of rural Waterbury, NE passed away at her residence on Saturday, March 17, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the First Lutheran Church in Allen, NE with Pastor Sarah Ruch officiating. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery in rural Allen. Visitation with the family present will begin at 5:00 P.M., with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca, NE. Arlene was born in rural Hoskins, NE on June 19, 1929, the daughter of Harry W. and Esther R. (Winter) Pfeil. She grew up in the Hoskins area where she attended country school before graduating from Pierce High School in 1947. She worked as a Secretary for the Nebraska Game Commission. Arlene married William "Bill" Clough on June 7, 1958 in Pierce, NE. The couple moved to Waterbury where Arlene was a homemaker, and they remained the rest of their lives. As her children attended school in Allen, she was a room mother and FHA sponsor. Bill passed away on July 2, 2005.

Arlene was a member of First Lutheran Church in Allen, NE. She also belonged to a knitting club and homemakers club.

She was a great cook, enjoyed gardening, dancing, had a great love of animals, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Mari Lisa (Kent) Emswiler of Blair, NE, Roger Clough of Le Mars, IA and Robert Clough of Seattle, WA; 5 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kathryn Holshouser; two nieces, Karen Tischer and Paula Wentz; and cousins, Joanne Thietje, Carolyn Tollefson and Larry Winter.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; one brother, Willard; and one brother-in-law, Jack Holshouser.
