Stanley Evenson
January 27, 1927 - March 21, 2012

Stoughton - Stanley L. Evenson, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Skaalen Home in Stoughton. He was born in Stoughton on January 27, 1927, a son of the late Elmer and Sophie (Rindahl) Evenson. He attended Stoughton Schools, graduated from Stoughton High School. Stanley was a lifelong Stoughton resident, a regular fixture at The Koffee Kup and a member of Christ Lutheran. On August 16, 1946, he married June Spilde. Stanley was employed with the Stoughton School District for 20 years. After his retirement he loved his many years mowing the course at the Stoughton Country Club.
Stanley is survived by his son, Gary (Diane) Evenson of Stoughton; his daughter Sinita (Gerry) Dix of Caledonia, MN; two grandchildren, Christopher (Clare) of New Zealand and Hallie Evenson; and two sisters, Eldora Gangstad and Evelyn Handeland. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and brothers, Omer, Arlyn and Ernie.
The family would like to especially thank Pastor Koza, Pastor Paula Geister-Jones, and the staff at Skaalen home at Heritage West and Forest View.
Memorials may be made in Stanley's honor to The City of Stoughton Food Pantry, City Hall, 381 E. Main Street, Stoughton, WI, 53589.
A memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at CHRIST LUTHERAN, 700 Cty Rd. B, Stoughton, 53532, with Pastor Paula Geister-Jones officiating. A visitation will take place at church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
