In loving memory of

Harold Morrical
November 30, -0001

Harold Bernard Morrical was the third son born to Anna Jane Aistrope and Paul A. Morrical in Rawles Township near Tabor, IA on January 14, 1927. He grew up on the farm and attended country school at Forest Grove, later going to Jr. High and graduating from Tabor High School.
As a boy he enjoyed ice skating, sleigh riding, roller skating and many other outdoor activities. He was active in 4-H showing beef, hogs, and chickens at the county fair, Ak-Sar-Ben, and Iowa State Fair. He was active in high school sports and played in the school and 4-H Bands.
On February 12, 1948 he married Lorraine Bruce at Red Oak, Iowa. They lived north of Tabor for six years where Myron Lee was born on November 21, 1951. They then moved south of Malvern to the Adolph Schultz farm where another son, Bruce Wayne, was born on November 12, 1954. Three years later they moved to their present home where they have lived for 45 years. In 1976 Harold realized a lifelong dream in owning his own farm. He loved farming and even after retiring would not move to town to make life a little easier. He liked watching things grow and trying new varieties. He raised hogs from farrow to finish for many years. During his lifetime farming was always the number one priority and he received honors for corn and bean yields.
Harold loved his family and enjoyed working with young people. When his boys were young he worked with Cub Scouts helping plan and taking part in camping trips and being Cub Scout treasurer. He was a 4-H leader for many years and received the 4-H Alumni award pin. He showed the same interest and love in his grandchildren Candi and Paul. He was always very proud of everything they did and enjoyed attending many of their activities. Shortly after Candi was born he insisted his family have their noon meal together on Sundays. After his illness, when someone suggested they discontinue this he insisted they not quit.
Harold was a White Cloud Township Trustee for many years, a long time Farm Bureau member, a member of the Congregational Church of Tabor, later changing his membership to the Strahan United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee and helped with many projects. In 1996 he received the Special Mission Recognition Pin from the Strahan United Methodist Women. He and Lorraine loved to travel when he was able. They made several trips to Florida, Texas and Colorado.
Lorraine and Harold had been married 54 years when Harold died at the Alegent-Health Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, NE on August 29, 2002 having attained the age of 75 years, 7 months and 15 days.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents Anna and Paul, son Bruce in 1969, sister Pauline and husband Fred Strait, sister-in-law Fern Morrical, brothers-in-law Keith Bruce, Donald Bruce and wife Beverly, and Tom Nicholas.
He leaves to mourn his wife Lorraine Morrical, son Myron and wife Jacquie Morrical, grandchildren Candi Morrical and Paul Morrical all of Hastings, IA; brother Kenneth Morrical of Tabor, IA, Raymond Morrical and his wife Helen of Malvern, IA; sisters-in-law Eileen Jones and husband Dale of Emerson, IA, Verilee Nicholas of Essex, IA and Mary Bruce of Hastings, IA; brother-in-law Kenneth Bruce and his wife Carol of Red Oak, IA; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
