In loving memory of

Sandra Blank Lobsinger
November 30, -0001

Sandra Lynn Blank Lobsinger, the oldest of three children of Lauraine Alice (Fickel) and Benjamin Swain Breeding, was born at Council Bluffs, IA on February 25, 1938. Sandra grew up in Malvern and graduated from Malvern High School in 1955.
Sandra and Dr. Charles J. Blank of Emerson, IA were married at the Malvern First Baptist Church on June 6, 1959. They made their home in Emerson and were blessed with five children, Lisa, Lesley, Lloyd, Josiah, and Leah. Sandra was active in the community, 4-H, and Order of Eastern Star where she served as Mother Advisor of Rainbow for Girls in Emerson for four years. During her term as Mother Advisor, the Emerson Assembly earned (out of over 400 assemblies) "Assembly of the Year" for the State of Iowa. In 1980, Sandra received a degree for respiratory therapy at Metro Tech in Omaha, NE and began her work at St. Joseph Hospital. Later in 1980, the family moved to Boise, ID where C.J. had accepted a position in a veterinarian clinic and Sandra continued her career as a respiratory therapist. Sandra and C.J. divorced in 1982 and both returned to Emerson.
Sandra and Jerry Huston of Emerson were married and continued living in Emerson. Sandra attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha for horticulture. She always had a very green thumb and talent for floral arrangements. Over the years, Sandra established and ran several greenhouse businesses. Sandra and Jerry later divorced.
Sandra married Clinton Bothwell and they made their home in Shelby, IA. In 1995, Sandra received certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Harlan, IA campus of Iowa Western Community College. Sandra and Clinton later divorced.
In 1996, Sandra and Jerry Lobsinger of Omaha were married and moved to the Taos, NM area where Sandra continued her career in respiratory therapy. Sandra developed a love for New Mexico and especially the beautiful sunsets. She was diagnosed with cancer in October of 1998 and received treatment. During this time she continued to work, developed a love for rock hunting, and earned a degree in fiber arts weaving. She became an avid weaver who raised and sheered her own sheep and spun the wool into yarn. She then hand-dyed and weaved the yarn into many artistic products. Sandra and Jerry divorced in 2001 and Sandra moved to nearby Llano, NM. In June of 2004, Sandra moved to her daughter Lesley's home in Kansas City, MO where surrounded by her family, Sandra died on June 25, 2004. She had attained the age of 66 years and 4 months.
Throughout her life Sandra was a very gifted and creative person. She enjoyed making matching outfits for Lisa and Lesley, sewing baby blankets for her children and grandchildren, and making costumes for parades. She would make May Day baskets from crepe paper and homemade valentines for school for her children. Sandra loved having her kids and grandkids around to make family get togethers (especially holidays) memorable. She loved to cook and spent many many hours preparing her wonderful meals that were always eagerly anticipated. A special treat was her homemade cherry pies. Each holiday was festively decorated from the placement of napkins she made to the candles and flower arrangements. Sandra was a wonderful mother. She devoted her life to exposing and giving the opportunity to go after and achieve any dreams her kids had from dance and gymnastics, to Miss Teen Contests, cheerleading, 4-H, showing horses, building her own ice skating rinks to supporting her children in their various sports. Sandra always gave 100% and instilled in all of her children that quitting or giving up was not an option. During her long battle with cancer, she never gave up. Sandra was very thankful for the opportunity to work at Holy Cross Hospital in Taos, NM, where she made many friends who were very supportive to her this last year as she became the patient. THANK YOU!!!
Sandra was preceded in death by her father and first husband, Dr. C. J. Blank.
