Duane "Pat" Putnam

Duane Charles "Pat" Putnam, one of eleven children of Leon Burwell Putnam and Carrie Alice (Perkins) Putnam, was born at his parent's rural home near Oakland, Iowa on March 17, 1945. Pat grew up in the Oakland area and attended school in Oakland. Following school, Pat farmed with his family as well as other area farmers.
Pat and Vicky Lou Wilber were married on February 18, 1967 at the Henderson Christian Church in Henderson, Iowa. They made their first home in Macedonia, Iowa and later settled in the Henderson, Iowa area. Their marriage was blessed with five children Kimberly Louise, Todd Duane, Sheila Marie, Troy Golyn, and Jeremy Charles.
Pat worked in Shenandoah as a mechanic for International and then began delivering and picking up tractors and other Implements and later made deliveries for Earl May. In 1987, Pat began working for Macedonia Implement. He made many friends throughout the area as he delivered and picked up farm equipment. Pat enjoyed tinkering with old tractors, woodworking projects, landscaping his yard, and raising miniature ponies. He loved going to coffee with the guys, spending time with the grandkids, harassing his co-workers, and trading pickups.
He suffered a heart attack on May 13, 2007. Pat and Vicky had been married 40 years when he died on May 30, 2007 at the University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. He had attained the age of 62 years, 2 months, and 13 days. Pat was preceded in death by his parents; sister Phyllis Wilson; brothers Dale Putnam and Darrell Putnam; brothers-in-law Wayne Heiman, Melvin Longcor, John Sorensen, Louie Moore, and Kenneth Shanno.
Pat is survived by his wife Vicky Putnam of Henderson, Iowa; children Kimberly McMillin and husband Rick of Stanton, Iowa, Todd Putnam and Troy Putnam and wife Doreen of Carson, Iowa, Sheila Putnam and her friend William Lloyd and his children Casey and Dillon of Emerson, Iowa, Jeremy Putnam and wife Jamie of Henderson; six grandchildren, Makayla Hudson, Kaylie Putnam, Bryan Putnam all of Stanton, Iowa, Chanelle Bush of Emerson, Jacob Putnam and Jillian Putnam of Henderson; sisters Jean Heiman of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Bonnie Longcor, Karen Sorensen, and Linda King all of Oakland, Iowa, Willadene Moore of Griswold, Iowa and Judy Shanno of Omaha; brother Don Putnam and wife Dorothy and sister-in-law Betty Putnam, all of Oakland; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
