In loving memory of

Margaret "Peggy" Study-Evans
August 24, 2007

Margaret Ann "Peggy" Study-Evans, one of nine children of Opal Vivian (Weston) and Kenneth Glen Ueberrhein, was born July 12, 1952 in Omaha, Nebraska. Peggy grew up in Glenwood, Iowa where she graduated from high school in 1971. Following high school, Peggy began a career working at the Glenwood State Hospital School which would continue for almost thirty years with absences for college and family needs.
Peggy and Danny Ray Study were married in June of 1971 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Shantel Laray and Chad Daniel. The family lived in Glenwood where both Peggy and Danny were working. Several years later, Peggy and Danny divorced and Peggy and the children continued to live in Glenwood. Peggy worked at the Glenwood State Hospital until she was injured. After several knee surgeries, she realized that she could no longer stay in the same line of work. She started to take college courses and in May of 1991, Peggy earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Peggy and Eldon "Bill" Evans were married on June 19, 1993 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had lived in the country near Glenwood for several years before finally deciding to move to Council Bluffs. Peggy lived there until Bill's death in 1999. After Bill's passing, she spent a couple of years living in Bellevue, Nebraska until she decided to move to Arizona to make a fresh start of things.
Peggy moved to Phoenix where she taught for Upward Bound, a private school where she was devoted to working with mentally challenged students. Peggy really loved this job and found a new calling in teaching. Needing knee replacement surgery, Peggy moved to Denison, Iowa three years ago to live with her daughter Shantel and her husband Aaron Ratliff. Peggy enrolled in Buena Vista College and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. At the time of her death, Peggy was earning a degree in Public Health Administration and an Iowa Teaching Certificate in Special Education.
Peggy enjoyed time spent with her family, traveling and taking trips in the car. She was a member of Simple Truth Ministry in Denison. Peggy died as a result of a car accident near Springfield, Minnesota on August 24, 2007, at the age of 55 years, 1 month, and 12 days.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill Evans; sister Iris Johnson; brothers David Ueberrhein and Mark Ueberrhein; brother-in-law Clyde Cole; and infant grandson Carter Ratliff. "My heart is heavy with sadness for you. Peggy and I were friends for so very long. I will always cherish the memories of our school days together, the times we shared after we both were married, watching both our children grow up and become adults. Peggy always kept a smile on her face thru the good times and the bad. She was a strong woman, mother and friend. I know that God has a special place for her in heaven taking care of the ones who have gone before her. I will always love her and miss her so much. She was such a giving and caring person. Rest peaceful my friend."

"I am so very sorry for the loss of Peggy, my heart goes out to her family, it's such a huge loss, she was a wonderful person. I had the priveledge of working with her at GRC and we had a lot of laughs together over the silliest things, she had such a good sense of humor and was so caring. I am very sorry for your loss.
