William Don Falk, one of four children of Alice Dolores (Will) and Donald Fred Falk, was born on December 3, 1948 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Fondly known as "Bill", he grew up in the Carson, Iowa area and graduated from Carson-Macedonia High School in 1967. After high school, Bill attended an auto body trade school in Kansas City, Missouri for two years. Following trade school, he was drafted into the United States Army in February 1969. He served in Vietnam as a member of the 1st Air Cavalry Division. Bill was the recipient of the Combat Infantryman Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Marksman (M-16 Rifle), and Expert (M-14 and M-60 Machine Gun). Following his honorable discharge from the Army in December 1970, Bill returned to Carson and farmed with his father. Due to declining health, he retired from farming in 2004.
Bill and Valerie Donna Sargent were married on September 2, 1972 in Carson. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Jessica and Lacey.
Bill was a member of the Carson American Legion and the V.F.W. in Oakland. His most memorable times were going on the wheat harvest with his father, who operated a custom combining business. Bill did this throughout his teenage years, traveling from Oklahoma to Montana. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a fan of driver, Jeff Gordon. Bill also liked watching college football. He loved being with his family.
Bill and Valerie were married 39 years when he passed away on November 8, 2011 at the Oakland Manor at the age of 62 years, 11 months, and 5 days. He was preceded in death by his father Donald Falk; brother Edward Alan Falk; and sister Nancy Louise Meiners.
Bill is survived by his wife Valerie Falk of Carson; daughters, Jessica Falk, and Lacey Boruff and husband David, all of Carson; mother Alice Falk of Carson; sister Barbara Jo Falk of Pacific Junction, IA; brother-in-law Robert Meiners of Geneva, IL; one nephew; one niece; two great nieces; one great nephew; and many friends.
Interment in Carson Cemetery.
