Junior W. Bobier, 85, of South Sioux City, NE passed away at his residence on Sunday, March 25, 2012, while surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 30, 2012 at River Hills Church in South Sioux City, NE with Pastor Kevin Roach officiating. Burial will be in the Ponca Cemetery in Ponca, NE. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M., with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Junior was born in South Sioux City, NE on March 16, 1927, the son of Wilfred W. and Mary F. (Fredricksen) Bobier. He grew up in South Sioux City and attended South Sioux City Schools. He was drafted during high school and served in the Army during World War II. Junior married Phyllis Paltz in Sioux City, IA on January 19, 1952. The couple lived in South Sioux City before moving to rural Ponca in 1958, where they lived for 43 years before returning to South Sioux City. He attended Western Iowa Tech. for two years, earning a certificate in drafting and design. He worked for Armour and Company for sixteen years, the City of Sioux City, then Mid American Energy for twenty years before retiring.
He was a member of River Hills Church.
Junior enjoyed fishing, traveling, exercising and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Bobier of South Sioux City, NE; children, David (Becky) Bobier of Sioux Falls, S.D., Kenny (Lanae) Bobier of Sioux City, IA, Craig (Cathy) Bobier of Westfield, IA and Janice (Neil) Deibert of Council Bluffs, IA; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Mary Bobier; 1 son, Robert; and 3 brothers, Melvin, Don and Jerry Bobier.
