Onsgard, William T. 'Ozzie'
Stoughton- William T. 'Ozzie' Onsgard, age 63, passed on at his home in Stoughton on Sunday March 25, 2012. He was born in Milwaukee on April 15, 1948, a son of Claire L. and Emma C. (Daley) Onsgard. He graduated from UW Whitewater, where he belonged to Sigma Pi Fraternity. Ozzie worked for the State of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development as a Financial Specialist. He retired after 25 years of service. Bill was proud of his Norwegian Heritage and very proud of his godson and nephew, Billie Hutcheson. Sister, CJ will miss hearing Bill's happy phone call voice, which always brought a smile to her face. He enjoyed late 60's and early 70's muscle cars, especially the Pontiac GTO, a model that he owned several times over the years. Bill was a very loyal long time Badger and Packer fan. He enjoyed spending time with his friends; lunching with Richard Damon, and playing cards with his card buddies. He played Euchre on Monday nights at the VFW, and 'Sheep's head' at the Senior Center on Thursdays. Ozzie had a wonderful personality as well as a sharp and witty sense of humor. He was a gentle giant to every one he knew and will be truly missed. He is survived by his sister, Carol J. Hutcheson; nephew, Billie L. (Gladys) Hutcheson; cousins, Robert H. and Robert A. Onsgard of Florida; special family friend, Dick Mullen; long time friends, Candace and Rainbow, and caring friend, Nancy Ringle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and special aunts, Kaia Daley and Mildred C. Anderson.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton with the Rev. Mark Petersen officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral from 1:00pm until the time of service. Burial will take place at Lower McFarland Cemetery on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 3:00 pm.
