"To all the Hardin Family, Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies on Stan's passing. He was a kind and generous man who never backed away from a challenge. When Shelley was living with him and Jackie, I remember them coming to our activities and especially to our parent/teacher conferences. I remember sitting on one of their 'kiddies' when I stopped over at there place by Cardinal! It was amazing the love they had for all of their pups! He and Jackie are already missed!"

"Dad, So many memories I had with you. You have been a part of my life since I was 6 years old. We went through ups and downs just as any family would but we always hung onto the things that truely mattered and that was the foundation of a true family relationship. Even though you and Mom never had biological children it never swayed you from being a real parent. You were there to keep my wings clipped and kept me ground when you knew I wasn't ready to fly (yes a bird metaphore) but that really was how things were. You never interferred with my Mom and Dad but always had the logical advice. You always looked out for me even when I tried to not let you. You hung in there and I will never ever forget your perseverance, it showed me you did truely love and respect me as a daughter and those are the traits I will carry with me forever and pass on to my children. Your strong will and your extreme intelligence were sometimes threatening to others but I always knew it was your passion and faith that compelled you and I always admired that. I hope you knew all of this while you were here with us and if you didn't I am so sorry I never told you. I did tell you regularly I loved you and I did and do mean it. You deserved to know that you truely mattered and truely made a difference in so many of us. May you rest peacefully with Mom and know I will always love you."

"Stan and I worked together at WDBQ in Dubuque during the early 70s. He was our overnight personality - I did mornings so we always crossed paths between shifts. He was a fine announcer, good conversationalist and always fun to be around. He name come up in conversation with several other broadcasters of that era just a few weeks ago. We all liked Stan but no one knew of his career as a Pharamcist. Best wishes to his family and friends. "
