"I learned of Phillips passing just this morning. To his wife and family I offer my sincere condolences. Brief life is here our portion, but looking forward, he is waiting for you in his mansion prepared for him by Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. 42 years have passed since our paths parted, but fond memories never fade. He and his siblings were great playmates as we grew up together. God be with all of you, He will comfort you now and forever. "

"I spent many an evening having dinner with Aunt Sandy and Uncle Phil during one of the worst periods of my life. Uncle Phil always made me smile, whether he was picking on me (good naturedly, of course), or just being funny. He was a good man whose presence will be missed by everyone who knew him."

"Phil was an awesome big brother! I have many great memories of time spent with him: calling bears in Yellowstone, shooting trap in the dump in Cambridge (yes, even the "special" shell he had for me that sent me flying back on my butt for several yards), trying to sit quietly waiting for deer, learning to drive a motorcycle, and on and on. He filled in as my dad when our dad died. He even taught me you truly can forgive and forget. Phil has given me a lifetime of memories and laughs and the tears I shed are not for him--they're for me for having to live out the rest of my life without him being a physical part of it. Phil, I am so happy for you--you now get to enjoy the rewards reserved for you in heaven. I will spend the rest of my life laughing and crying when I remember you and being forever grateful for the time we were able to spend together on this earth. Love and miss you always Phil! Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal. "
