Schneider, Madrian "Mady" Brown
Adored wife, mother, grandmother, passed away at home on April 28th, 2012 surrounded by her family. She confronted last year's diagnosis of pancreatic cancer with indomitable strength; she made sure she finished her decorating obligations, dined and visited with friends, travelled, and cherished her family. An avid political junkie and ardently outspoken about social and racial injustice, she continued watching her numerous favorite news shows throughout her last days. Her family and friends loved and appreciated her wisdom and good sense and will miss her terribly. Her home was the hub of the family where Thanksgiving, Passover, Chanukah and other special times were always celebrated. Mady was born to Miriam and Al Brown on November 28, 1936 in Hollywood, California. She attended Harrison Street Elementary in City Terrace before the family moved to Arizona hoping the weather would cure her asthma. After 7 years, they came back to Los Angeles where she attended Bancroft and Thomas Starr King Junior Highs, John Marshall High School, UCLA and Cal State Northridge.
In May 1956, Mady eloped with her high school sweetheart, Stanley Schneider and they embarked on a wonderful 56-year adventure together. They had 5 children in the next 6 years. While raising her family, Mady managed to graduate from college, travel extensively throughout the world with friends and family, attend many glamorous Hollywood and political events, and had a career in real estate that led to a fulfilling follow-up career in interior and exterior design. She enjoyed socializing and discussing hot topics with her wide circle of friends. A voracious reader, she belonged to her book club for over 50 years. Throughout her life she supported the arts and theatre and took advantage of the numerous cultural events her city had to offer. Mady is survived by husband, Stanley, her children: Andrea Murray (Patrick,) Gary Schneider (Karen,) Lisa Iannone (Eddie,) Lynn Eissele (John,) Lori Gense (Dan,) and grandchildren Jonathan and Nicholas Murray, Jason and Lauren Schneider, Sam and Annie Gense, Jake and Grant Eissele and Christian Iannone. She leaves behind her sisters-in-law Sylvia Brown and Bernice Manocherian, nieces Karen Brown Jackson, Ann Brown Rabiroff, Sharon Mazin, and her niece and nephews in New York. Her parents and adored brother, Murray Brown, preceded her in death. Services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 2,2012, Mount Sinai Memorial Parks -Hollywood Hills (800) 600-0076.
