"Connie, I remember meeting Jeff at your home one weekend back in college. He said or did something gross..."pest," you declared. I laughed and said I had two of them at home. Treasure your memories of your little pest. I am sure your head and heart are filled with many. I am so sorry for your pain. My prayers to you and your family. Love, Theresa"

"You left way too early Mud Dog! The world was a better place because you were here. You will be missed, my friend. Many tears have been shed and there will be more tears shed, but I am stronger for knowing you. Thank you for your friendship. So many memories of happiness, fun times and smiles...ahh your smile. I'll miss that smile. Now go hit lots of homeruns and be sure to save me a spot on the bench. "

"To Jeff's family and many friends, my deepest sympathies. I was lucky to have met and befriended Jeff while working together at Deer Park Lodge during the summer of 1987. The friendship we forged there continued to be among my most cherished, though time and distance did not allow for frequent reunions. Just knowing that Boatman was in the world made me happy, and his loss leaves a hole in many hearts. His reach and influence was long and enduring. Boatman, thank you for your friendship."
