Funeral services for Roger Gale Hines, 76, of Lisbon who died Friday, May 18, 2012 from complications of a stroke, will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 11:00 am at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton with Rev. Carol Mart officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville. Roger was born October 27, 1935, in Tipton, Iowa, the son of Howard Dale and Ina Ehresman Hines. He attended Tipton High School while growing up. In 1990 Roger retired from Wilson's, which later became Farmstead Foods in Cedar Rapids. He spent his retirement years helping the staff at Junction Auto in Lisbon. Roger enjoyed walking, visiting with family and friends and just helping people in any way he could.
Roger is survived by his children, Teresa (Mike) Flockhart of Mt. Vernon, Mike (Jodie) Hines of Cedar Rapids, Lance (Jollene) Hines of Tipton, Derek (Sehrish) Hines of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren, Laurie, Sean, Tyler, Tayler, Maddison, Brandon, Karli, Alexis and one on the way; sisters-in-law, Arlene Hines and Grace Hines; one nephew and three nieces.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dale and Paul Hines; and sister, Dorothy Hines.
