Glenn Brownlee
December 12, 1947 - June 4, 2012

Glenn Allen Brownlee was born on December 12, 1947 in Clarinda, Iowa, the son of James and Virginia (Culver) Brownlee. Glenn entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 4, 2012 in Shenandoah, Iowa following a brave battle with cancer.

Glenn resided in Coin, until the age of 3 when the family moved to Farragut. He attended Farragut High School and graduated with the Class of 1966. He then went on to further his education at Northwest Missouri State University, where he graduated from in 1970.

On August 15, 1970 Glenn was united in marriage to Helen Gutschenritter at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Imogene, Iowa. The couple made their home in Shenandoah. Glenn was employed at the Farragut Elevator, Farragut Ag, and most recently the UFMC in Farragut.

Glenn was active in many organizations including the Elks Lodge #1122, the Knights of Columbus, Agribusiness Association of Iowa, where he served on the active membership committee from 1997-2002, was a NCAE Committee Member, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a devoted Parrott Head! Some of his passions included woodworking, traveling. golfing, spending time with his family, and driving his corvette.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Virginia Brownlee; mother and father-in-law George and Cecelia Gutschenritter; nephews T.J. Gibson and Donald Gibson, Jr.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 41 years, Helen Brownlee of Shenandoah, IA; son, Kevin Brownlee and wife Paige of Omaha, NE; grandsons, Brayson and Rogan Brownlee of Omaha, NE; brothers, David Brownlee and wife Paula of Farragut, IA; Bob and Jackie Brownlee of Nebraska; sisters Joy Hall and husband Conrad of Sidney, IA and Becky Shull and husband Tom of Farragut, IA; sister-in-law, Rita Gibson and husband Don of Shenandoah, IA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of dear friends.

"Glenn was a neighbor to Keith and they started kindergarten together They lived 1/2 mile part rode the same school bus,played, rode bikes and during high school they both shelled corn for Vern Kemp. We both graduated from high school with Glenn in 1966. Living in Alaska we have not seen him often,but saw him in early May glad we were able to have a good talk at that time.
