Clayton Seemann
February 2, 1958 - June 14, 2012

Clayton Harper Seemann, age 54, of Spirit Lake, passed away Thursday June 14, 2012 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. He was born on February 2, 1958 to Eugene and Elsie (Blass) Bates and lovingly raised by Harper and Betty (Vanderburg) Seemann.

Clayton graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1976 and Iowa Lakes Community College in 1978. He married Linda Gross on November 5, 1983 at the Spirit Lake United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake.

Clayton enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, watching the Rams and Lakers and any sports his kids were playing. He also enjoyed his best bud Kobe, VW 's and sports cars.

Clayton was proud to work for the City of Spirit Lake for over 24 years, up until his accident. Following his accident, Clayton was cared for by several wonderful nurses.

Clayton is survived by his wife Linda Seemann of Spirit Lake, two daughters Nicole and her husband Mitch Begley of Spirit Lake and Holly Seemann a student at UNI, a son Andrew Seemann at home, his mother Betty Seemann of Spirit Lake, brothers Bill and his wife Heike Seemann of Sioux City, Ken and his wife Julie Seemann of Oskaloosa, Skip and his wife Brenda Seemann of Spirit Lake, Arnold and his wife Laurie Bates of Milford, Roger and his wife Diane Bates of Lone Tree, half-sister Deb Nissen of Milford, and many nieces and nephews.

Clayton was preceded in death by his father Harper.

I remember when I lived in the apartments behind his mom and dads house Clayton was waxing his Volkswagon Jetta a bright red one, I remmember him waxing the whole thing at once intead of a little bit at a time and it wa pure white. A whole bunch of us gave him a hand and helped clean it up"
