Clifford Carroll Duckstein
August 7, 1923 - June 15, 2012

Clifford C. Duckstein, age 88 of Prairie City, died Friday, June 15, 2012 at Mitchell Village Care Center in Mitchellville. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. Burial will follow at Vandalia Cemetery. Visitation will take place on at Sunday, June 17, 2012 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home Memorials may be directed to the Vandalia Church of Christ and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.


The son of William F. and Dawn (Quigley) Duckstein, Cliff was born on August 7, 1923 in Newton. Cliff served in the United States Navy during WWII. On August 23, 1980, he was united in marriage to Roberta Fern Ditto. Cliff worked at Des Moines General Hospital until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the Vandalia Church of Christ, Aging Resources of Central Iowa Board Member, and a life long member of the NRA.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Roberta "Bobbi", in Prairie City; two sons, Galen (Gwen) Duckstein of Prairie City and Dwight L (Beth) Duckstein of Maquokata; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and three sisters, Helen Wilson of Prairie City, Melda (Marvin) Ingle of Vandalia, and Dorothy (Dale) Van Maanen also of Vandalia. Preceding him in death were his parents and his first wife Hazel in 1976
