Engel, Vicki F., 60, of Hollywood, passed away peacefully on the evening of June 19, 2012, after a seven-year battle with cancer. Born on November 3, 1951, to Thomas and Lois Frakes, Vicki grew up in Winter Haven, FL, and graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1969.
For twenty-seven years, Vicki worked as the office manager, and then practice manager, of the equine veterinary practice, Teigland, Franklin, and Brokken of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. TFB grew to be as much a family as a business to Vicki and was where she formed some of her longest-lasting friendships.
Vicki was known for her love of animals, the color purple, her collection of science fiction memorabilia, and for her tenacious dedication to her loved ones, to her work, and to anyone who needed her assistance.
Vicki was a member of the choir at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood and an active leader of Boy Scout Troop 420 during her son's time with the troop.
She was the loving wife of James M. Allshouse and mother of Grant C. Engel. Vicki is survived by her husband and son, her sister Jill Kosmensky, and mother Lois Frakes, both of Winter Haven, and by her step-son Scott L. Engel who lives abroad.
Above all, Vicki will be remembered for her devotion to her family and friends, her strength and determination, and for the love and laughter she shared with everyone she knew.
A memorial service will be held to honor Vicki and to celebrate her life. Please join us on Saturday, July 28 at the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, FL at 10:30am. The church is located at 1530 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, FL 33020. Condolences may be shared at www.fredhunters.com.

"We offer our deepest sympathy to Jim, Grant, lois, Jill, Scott ,family and friends.
Vicki has been such a special friend to me, about 35 years , and to all the ladies that were in Weekender Fashions,Tidalwave Wellness and Skin care , and so many other Ventures prior to these that we involved in together.
Vicki was always so outgoing , friendly and had such a sweet and lovely presence and personality. She had so much of herself to give to others. Who could say no to her in the Sales Department,
Vicki fought her battle well and now she is with our Lord.
Vicki will be missed by so many, but our Memories will always be in our Hearts for our Dear Friend."

Her legacy will live on as I share her story and the many avenues of healing that we gleaned along the way.....from Europe to South America..... with my future patients. "Dear Jim and Grant,
I was so saddened to hear of Vicki's difficult last few months and her death. She was always so full of life and was a beautiful, thoughtful, and fun person. She is gone too soon, but at least she is no longer suffering. Lauren and I loved spending time with you and Vicki every time we visited Martha and family in FL. My sister is so fortunate to have such great friends. I know this has been a difficult time, and I pray that you find courage and some peace in the days to come. We will always remember Vicki.
