Dale Allen Dague, 68, of Baldwin, Iowa, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at his home in rural Baldwin, Iowa.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10 A.M., Thursday, June 28, 2012, from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa.
Dale Allen Dague was born on September 10, 1943 to Gerald Dale and Hilda Marie (Tracy) Dague. He went to the Baldwin Schools through the 8th grade and graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1962. He married Shirley Arensdorf.
Dale had worked first at Clinton Engines and then for Tracy Logging. He was a member of the Iron
Workers Union Local #89 and worked construction and built bridges. He later worked for Bullock's Trucking, Sommerville Trucking and Tabor Farms. He retired from Hummers Trucking in 2010.
In addition to the Iron Workers Union Local #89, he had also been a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club and the Baldwin Saddle Club.
Dale enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, trail riding and going to all kinds of sales and auctions. He also raised paint horses and currently owned 21 horses. He recently purchased a motorcycle and was looking forward to riding it.
Dale is survived by his children, Kathy (John) Yarolem of Monmouth, IA, and Jerry (Tamera) Dague of Sevierville, TN; 5 grandchildren, Kyle, Justin, Elizabeth, Will and Cheyenne; 1 great-grandchild, Colton; a step-brother, Greg (Lisa) Jepsen of Blanchardville, WI; and step-sisters, Deborah (Ron) Melohn of Reinbeck, IA and Michelle (John) Rodriguez of Austin, TX; a brother-in-law, Kermit Bodenhofer of Baldwin, IA; a sister-in-law, Judy Dague of Monmouth, IA; and his special dog, "Mike". He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald, mother, Hilda, step-father, Glen Jepsen, a brother, Tommy, a sister, Geraldine Bodenhofer, and a grandson, Jake.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the Dale Allen Dague memorial fund.
