Shirley Mae Poulsen
August 14, 1927 - June 29, 2012

Shirley Mae Poulsen, 84, De Pere, died Friday, June 29, 2012. She was born August 14, 1927 to the late Elmer and Irma (Steinhardt) Berth in Kiel, Wisconsin. On June 26, 1948, she married Jens "Jim" Poulsen in Racine, Wisconsin. Shirley was employed by Fort Howard Paper Mill for 30 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Green Bay, the Concerned Heart Club and was a volunteer at Bellin Hospital. Shirley was a great sports fan enjoying the Packers, the Brewers and the Badgers.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary (Dick) Spangenberg, Peshtigo and Lynne Mainik, Wausaukee; three sisters-in-law, Judy Bruemmer, Joan Berth and Edith Beair; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two infant sons, Mark and Jeffrey; two brothers, William and David Berth; four brothers-in-law, Elmer Poulsen, Einer Poulsen, Phil Mainik and Chuck Beair; and two sisters-in-law, Ginny Poulsen and Mona Poulsen.
Visitation will take place after 10 AM Monday, July 2, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1301 South Ridge Road, Green Bay, where the funeral service will take place at 11 AM with the Rev. Earl Vorpagel III officiating. Entombment will be at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bellin Hospital 4th floor, Rev. Earl Vorpagel III. Unity Hospice and the Jack & Engrid Meng Residence for all their care and concern.
A memorial fund has been established in Shirley's name.
