Elizabeth Katura Whitesell

Elizabeth "Kay" Whitesell, 88, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away July 9, 2012, at the Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa. She was born on May 5, 1924, in Anderson, South Carolina, to William Lee and Alice (Bray) Jones. Kay was united in marriage to Roland Edgar Whitesell on July 18, 1945, in South Carolina. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hampton, Iowa. Kay loved her family and cherished the time spent with them. She also loved her pets, especially her cat Caesar. Kay enjoyed playing cards with her friends and traveling. She is survived by her daughter Fran (Len) Foland of Geneva, grandchildren Kathy (Ron) Paulsen of Woodinville, Washington, Lee (Jolie) Crawford of Sigourney and Patty (Craig) Mahnke of San Antonio, Texas, great-grandchildren Zach and Emma Paulsen of Woodinville, Washington, Tyler and Levi Crawford of Sigourney and Lauren and Lila Mahnke of San Antonio, Texas, step-grandchildren Michael (Pam) Foland of Cedar Falls, Michele (Jeff) Simpson of Geneva, sister Dorothy Lee Flagg of Frisco, Texas, brother Jim (Patsy) Jones of Anderson, South Carolina, along with several nieces and nephews and many friends. Kay was preceded in death by her parents William Lee and Alice, husband Rolland, daughter Roberta "Bobbi" Crawford and sister Mary Alice Tatum.
