Safely Home
I am home in heaven dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in heaven at last.

"Met Bill many years ago in Windom through our mutual friend Vera Glidden. Got to know him personally through other mutual friends. Bill and I had a unique relationship and those that know us may understand what I mean. I am pleased to call him a friend and that I got to know him better these last few years after he quit drinking. I got to visit with him in Lakefield as he was recovering this last spring. I talked with him a few weeks ago at Freedom Value and he looked really good. I was shocked to hear about his death but I knew it was just a matter of time. (We will all die someday.) I look forward to seeing Bill in Heaven some day and getting to know his heavenly being! I am sure it will be AWESOME! GOD Bless you Bill. Until we meet again... "
"Bill and I were classmates at Worthington. I had lost track of him after we graduated, but was so glad when he joined us at our 45th class reunion. He was still the quick-witted and fun loving guy I remembered. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. God's blessings to him and his family. Linda (Greven) Paulsen "
"We got to know Bill through Sunshine Foods, and will always remember his friendly smile and kind words. No one was a stranger to Bill-he talked to everyone and always had good things to say to people. I am so thankful that he knew Christ before he passed away,because I know he is no longer suffering with health problems and he is in heaven bringing laughter and smiles to everyone there. God bless your soul, Bill. And may God bless your family and friends with peace and comfort.

"Bill and I lived near each other growing up in Worthington and were classmates all through school. In grade school we played baseball together, went to movies & HS football game and were back and forth to each others homes. We met up again at our 45th HS reunion & I was shocked...Billy Simpson from our youth had the greatest head of wavey long black hair! In the last few years Bill sent me some really touching notes via email and facebook - I was surprised at some of his great memories of our friendship. I am deeply saddened by Bill's passing. My sincere condolences to Bill's family and friends."
"Bill was my classmate from kindergarten through high school and always a source of joy and amusement throughout our school days. We last saw him at our 45th WHS reunion in 2008. I talked to him regularly when I was preparing the reunion book with everyone's stories, and he wanted to know what had become of all his classmates. So sorry to learn that he had been ill and that he has left us. My sympathies to his family."
"I remember Bill from the 60's when he lived in our hood. My bros Ekke & Paul hung with Bill at Ray's ect. I was just at the little park accross the alley from when you lived on Miller St. about a month ago. I sat there and thought about all the kids from the block Bill, Mike, Don, Greg Schol, Denny Markman and the Wibbens boys, and wondered about them. Am so sorry to read about Bill,my prayers go to the family. RIP Bill Eva Heidebrink Bruscher"

"I remember Bill back in the 60's in Worthington.We would go out on double dates to the movies with him at the drive in movie and downtown one. He always had a great since of humor and a great laugh which made you laugh along with him. Those bright blues eyes I also remember and he never lost them. He was always happy. RIP "Bill" and God Bless your family during these times."

"Bill was a very special man. A caring person when it came to children, loyal friend and so intelegent."
"Bill and I became good friends when I got discharged from the Navy in 1965. We shared many fun times together. I lost contact with him when I moved away from Worthington but found out he was living in Windom around 2008. I stopped by to see him and took him to Worthington to visit with some old friends. We had a good day. I will be in Worthington the end of this month and had plans to visit with him on his birthday. Bill was looking forward to it. Bill believed in a "higher power" so he is in a better place now and the pain is gone. R.I.P. Bill Ray Smith "

"Just made a visit to Bill in June with 2 good friends Tom Tracy and JonAndy. We spent the afternoon talking about ole memories from the 60's, the neighborhood we grew up in and the friends we hung out with in Ray's Cafe... It was a Good day...........
Last phone call was a week ago and he talked about his next birthday,his parents, his brothers and his gratitude about life. He didn't know we planned another trip to see him the end of the month.....
What I will miss the most is his deep voice, his laughter and the twinkle in his blue eyes when he smiled..........
He loved his family and friends and he said "I will always protect those around me." RIP BILL"
