"I knew Mike for almost 25 years from the early days at Ultrasystems and worked with him extensively during his time with Entergy in Australia. His energy, fun loving spirit and intelligence made him a blast to work with. I knew whatever we were going to be doing, it was going to be "interesting". In recent years, I would here from him from time to time - a text message for sure if the Lakers won a playoff game. When we spoke there was never a time where he didn't tell me all about Pilar and James and how proud he was of their accomplishments. I am still in a state of shock and sadness over his loss. I know if he were here he would say "brother, get over it - take care of Lucy and my kids." That was just the man that Mike was. My deepest sympathy to Lucy, Pilar and James and if there is ever anything I can do please let me know. "

"From days at the SDSU Business School to trips to Oxnard to good times in Costa Mesa CA after he graduated with his MBA, Mike and I developed a bond that was impossible to describe. I have known him since that late 70's and have known Lucy since the early 80's. They were 2 of my most favorite people of all time. Mike and I contacted each other about every 3 to 6 months forever through phone since I was in So Cal and he in the FLA. We had birthdays within a week of each other, so we were always dialed in to when we had those happening. This year, I was in the formulation stages of figuring out my joke gift for him. I will truly always love the guy. Part of my sadness stems from my twenty-something son and daughter never having been able to meet the guy I knew as Scoobs. I am hopeful that I will get the opportunity to meet Pilar and James sometime in the future. My heartfelt condolences go out to Lucy and the kids, Anne Marie and her family and Mike's mom, Helen. - 2L"

A lot of great memories of Mike in Oxnard and of Mike & Joe Donlon's trip to Florida after I moved here to Panama City. Condolences to family and friends - Mike and his famous magnetic personality will be missed. "

"He was a great mentor who became a great boss, who became a great friend. He was always bragging about his increidble wife and talented children. He was so proud of you guys. You were his everything and everything he did was for you. His heart was just big enough to include the rest of us in his light. He was my teacher and I often confided in him. No one will ever fill that space. It will remain empty for me."

Rich and Ann Favor wrote on Aug 19, 2012:

"Dear Lucy, Helen, Anne, Pilar and James, As my husband packs to board his flight from LA to Miami for Mike's memorial, I am struck by the huge loss he feels in Mike's passing. I was not as fortunate as others who knew Mike so well, but I do feel as though I have a sense of who he was in life. I did meet him and his family once during one of his visits to Oxnard. His family was very warm and inclusive, but what I remember most was Mike living the moment and looking towards the next. More than anything else it is the memories that Rich shares of his and Mike's escapades growing up. They create laughter and fun among us all and Rich's stories never grow old to me. I feel as though I myself have known him for years. Our deepest condolences to family and friends. May your memories outlive your sorrow. Love Ann and Rich Favor"

"I, too, had the joy of having Mike as a wonderful high school pal- we were in the same "gang"...I remember being a senior and marveling at his transformation...from skinny kid with a silver front tooth- into this tall, buff, basketball standout that had all the freshman girls ooh'ing and ahh'ing! I enjoyed sharing e-mail updates with Mike recently- he, of course, shared videos of both Pilar and James (James- he referred to you as a "Stud"- this was sooo Mike!)...he was incredibly proud of his children and beautiful wife! Best of all, he was singularly Mike- our beloved," Scoobs". My husband just happens to have many Mike memories as well, having grown up around the block from the Suters. We are both deeply saddened by what can only be described as a tremendous loss! Love and strength to the Suters! Lynn and Brian Johnson"

"I was absolutely shocked upon hearing about Mike's passing. Even now I'm still trying to wrestle with my emotions. He is one of my best friends and I have known him since 1969 when I first met him at Fremont Junior High in Oxnard. Our last conversation was about how he was looking forward to coming out next year to our Oxnard High School 45th year reunion. I too was looking forward to it and having Mike stay at my house. Mike lived life just like his personality, big, enthusiasic, always pushing boundaries and the status-quo. He was a go-getter, get it done, and do it bigger and better. Sadly I will not be able to make it to his memorial service. To Lucy, Pilar, James, Anne, and Helen, I share in your grief but will always remember Mike as that positive force of nature that impacted all who knew him. We miss him and will never forget him. Jim and Anita"

Eileen Cioe wrote on Aug 19, 2012:

"What a loss! Mike's premature departure from us is. A day without Mike's wit, humor, outlook on life and great conversation is like a day without sunshine. I am going to miss him and knowing about what a wonderful cook Lucy is and the musical and scholarly talents of Pilar and James -- he was a man who truly had bragging rights to his wonderful family. His death hit me hard, but when I saw Pilar and James clearing out his office, the finality of his death came to light. Rest in peace, dear friend, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family now and always. "

"Mike was the best. What a fun guy. I couldn't resist his personality... i guess that's why I hired him three times! He made the people around him enjoy life more than ever, with his constant upbeat personality. Truly one of a kind. I will certainly miss Mike, and Anne and I send our condolences to Lucy and the kids."

Toni Shackle wrote on Aug 18, 2012:

"Mike is one of the most memorable characters I have ever known. He had a huge personality and more wit and energy than any five people and you always knew when Mike was around. He was so thrilled that Lucy agreed to marry him and he adored and bragged about Pilar and James as any proud father would do. There is a group of us who worked together for many, many years - Larry Folks, Tony Dabene, Jon Glazer, Billy Owens, Bill Ford, Scott Noll, Barry Weiss - and several others. We remember now and will cherish the fond memories of Mike and the unique "Mike Suter Experience." I have been very blessed to have known him - I will miss you Mike - "You're the Best." Rest in Peace."

Jon Glazer wrote on Aug 18, 2012:

"Mike was such an upbeat, fun-loving guy. He was also very quick-witted. When confronted with a challenging question he would take a little pause and briefly turn his eyes upward while his brain went into overdrive. Then, a few seconds later he would come up with a great answer. I remember seeing Mike in the lobby of a Melbourne hotel as he was getting ready for his first attempt at driving a car Down Under. Of course he had no fear of having to drive on the opposite side of the road. When I saw him 15 minutes later he was back at the car rental desk turning in his keys. Apparently he hadn't made it out of the parking garage without getting into an accident. That was it for Mike; clearly that party wasn't happening so he was off to find a better one."

He was an amazing guy and I liked and respected him a lot. "
