In loving memory of

Susan H. Weston
August 12, 1938 - October 21, 2012

Susan H. Weston, 74, died peacefully on October 21, 2012 at Agrace HospiceCare in Madison. Sue was born in Chicago on August 12, 1938 to Raymond and Betty Hazekamp. She was graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1960, and married Dr. Carl B. Weston of Madison the same year. Sue and Carl had three daughters, and one son, Carl, who passed away in 1992.

Sue was involved in several Madison organizations including Attic Angels, Delta Gamma, and P.E.O. After raising her children, Sue brought her incomparable creativity and style to the Doncaster, Carlisle and Worth companies, inspiring many women across the country. Sue was a devoted friend, an accomplished gardener and an animal lover. A perfect day usually started with a long, brisk walk with her standard poodle Phineas, often accompanied by a close friend.

Sue's warm smile, hearty laugh and unique ability to captivate those around her will be greatly missed by her husband, Carl, and their children and grandchildren: Holly W. Rogers and her husband, Chip, of Andover, Massachusetts, and their sons, Weston, Sawyer, and Davis; Jenner W. McLeod and her husband, Eric, of Madison, and their daughters, Jenner, Anders and Hollis; and Sarah W. Orr and her husband, San, of Lake Forest, Illinois, and their sons, Anders, Oliver, and Morgan.

Sue's family wishes to extend deep appreciation to all of the wonderful people who provided compassionate care at Agrace Hospice.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 116 W. Washington Avenue, Madison, at 1:00pm CT on Friday, October 26th. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 East Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI, 53711.

"There is so much sadness in my heart because I know how much you are hurting Carl. Your sister Jane just told me of your great loss. I will remember Sue as one of the kindest and friendliest women I have ever known and the woman whose beautiful smile and charming personality made one realize she was completely focused on them in that moment. I always enjoyed chatting with her at Wisconsin football games and when I would see her in the clinic or around town. I hope your memories of your happiest times together will help to lighten your heart through the days ahead. I wish you, your family and everyone affected by her passing peace and healing."

"Sue was such a lovely woman with style, grace and warmth. I loved the mischievous little twinkle in her eye. When we worked endless hours on the Carlisle videos, she always remained composed and professional no matter how many "retakes" it took. I feel blessed to have known Sue. My heart felt condolence to every member of her wonderful family...."

"I knew Sue largely from the early morning dog walks, where her cheerful, outgoing demeanor were always such a great start to the day - filling me with sunshine and good spirits. I will miss her seemingly bottomless joie de vivre, as I'm sure Moka will miss her little romps with Phineas."

"Sue was indeed a treasure and true visionary for The Carlisle Collection. Women were drawn to her as she valued any and all contributions that came her way. Thank you for sharing her with us over the years as I know she put in a lot of air miles, but being surrounded by her creativity was truly a joy for everyone!"

"I shall always remember how much I looked forward to seeing Sue at various Carlisle meetings over the years, and listening to the wealth of fashion information she shared with the Carlisle consultants, which included what color hose and what shoes to wear with the Carlisle outfits. Sue was lovely and gracious to all. I missed her so much when she retired as Carlisle's Director of Merchandising."

"As a neighbor of Karl and Susan's during the 80's and 90's I looked forward to seeing the gazelle like figure running her standard poodles down Lakewood Blvd to the golf course. Her infectious laugh and smile would always turn my lips to a smile. Her non-judgemental sweet demeanor should be mirrored by all. I admired her love of life, love of her family (both two legged, and four pawed, especially her veggie eating Phen), and her appreciation of the beauty of home and garden. She set the bar for high standards...I only pray I can emulate her victory of that passion and desire for life. I also pray for God to protect and cherish our sweet angel. I Miss You Sweet Sue!!!"
