"Mr. Pirtle came into my life when I did not know where to turn. Our Horse Rescue had to move to aother site. We had bought the building materials and the property was ready for us to get started but we had no builder. After hearing our plight for help, Mr. Pirtle stepped up and built our barn for us. I had never known such kindness from a stranger but from the moment I met him, I knew we were going to be ok. So, because he came to our rescue, we would be able to continue to maintain the 50 rescue horses under our care and help any others that might need a safe haven. It was because of his help that we are still saving Florida's Horses. F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Horse Rescue and I will forever remember his kindness and generosity. Mr. Pirtle was a genuine horse lover and a person who truly cared about helping his community. We would like to say to his family, we are so very sorry for your loss, he truly was a wonderful man. . "Mr. Pirtle will be held close in our families' hearts. I met Jim when I was a young girl, as he would get his hair cut in my Dad's (Tom Namie's) barber shop, and I was always awed with his character and his caring friendship with my father. Jim helped my father start a new career in real estate as a property manager of Colonial Manors, and later as a Broker for selling Oak Path condominiums. Both Mary and Jim Pirtle were good friends of my parents, and I will always be grateful for their loyal relationship since the 1960's. It was great watching the Pirltle family grow and being involved with many happy occasions over the years. My Mom, Marge Namie ,my brothers, and Rick and I miss them both very much, and will cherish great memories for always. We know their love lives and shines on through their beautiful family. Our heartfelt condolences and sympathy are extended to them with our love."

"I have only known Mr. Pirtle for a few years. It has been a privilege to have spent time with him. He is one of the rare horsemen that seems as enthralled with horses these past years as I imagine he was in the beginning. My favorite time with him is when his daughter who rides for me and is an All-American came up after her flat test and was going to talk him through the pattern. He just looked at Lindsay and said "I had it all figured out after the second ride"."
