Iona May Hoversten, 78, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at her home in Webster City. Services celebrating Iona's life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 10th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City with Pastors Mike Kroona and Tony Ede officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemtery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Iona May Luppes was born on September 27, 1934 at her family home south of Blairsburg to Johnnie and Pearl (Meyer) Luppes. She graduated from Blairsburg in 1952. Iona was the proud mother of four daughters; Rhonda (Rich) Casky, Sandy (Johnny) Belarde, Debbie Siders and Brenda Paris. Iona worked for Arrow-Acme, Nissen and Son and Electrolux, retiring in 1998. In her free time, Iona enjoyed being with her family and playing BINGO. She loved going to the Iowa State Fair every summer.
Iona is survived by her daughters, Sandy Belarde of WA, Debbie Siders of Eagle Grove and Brenda Paris of WA; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Aretta Muxfeldt of Webster City and Lois (Dee) Nixon of CA; and brothers, Johnnie (Sharon) Luppes Jr. of Blairsburg and Kenny (Jean) Luppes of CA.
Iona was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Rhonda Casksy, grandson, Shannon Siders, sister and brother-in-law, Lavonne (Gary) Hanson, brothers, Verl and Orvil Luppes and brother-in-law, Harvey Muxfeldt.

"Sorry to read of "Onie's" passing. I worked with Ione for many years at Nissen's and the woman was not afraid of work. She seemed to make the best of everyday of her life.
