Eleanor L. Rortvedt
March 5, 1913 - November 13, 2012

Sun Prairie - Eleanor L. Rortvedt, age 99 passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Agrace HospiceCare with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 5, 1913 in Fairchild, Wisconsin, the daughter of Herman and Lisette (Zillmer) Klatt. On October 21, 1933, Eleanor was united in marriage to Oscar Rortvedt Sr. and together they raised three children. Eleanor was a faithful member at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Madison for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed baking, traveling and taking care of their hobby farm. Most of all she loved spending time with family and friends. Eleanor is survived by her two children; Oscar (Judy) Rortvedt Jr. and Janice Rortvedt, a daughter-in-law; Judy Rortvedt all of Sun Prairie, seven grandchildren; Randy (Clo) Rortvedt of San Diego, CA, James (Jennifer) Rortvedt, Julie Rortvedt, Lorie (Randy) Wiessinger all of Sun Prairie, David Rortvedt of Madison, Steven Rortvedt of St. Peter, MO and Jeffrey (Kelli) Rortvedt of Marshall, and nine great grandchildren; Daniel, Michael (Sarah), Nicole, Ty, Kristi, Camille, Kyle, Allison and Ryan. She is also survived by many other loving family and friends. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Oscar Sr. on August 26, 2002, son; Arvid, sister and brother-in-law; Irene and Paul Gorkowski and brother and sister-in-law; Alfred and Bernice Klatt.
Funeral services will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 11:00 am with Pastor Dustin Krystowiak officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of services. Burial will be held at Norway Grove Cemetery, DeForest. Memorials may be made in memory of Eleanor to Agrace HospiceCare Inc, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Meriter ICU and Agrace HospiceCare for all the love and attention given to Eleanor and our family.
