Patrick J. Roach, age 54, of Madison, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 25, 2012.
Pat was born on May 12, 1958, in Madison, the son of Patrick and Mary Lou (Mohrhauser) Roach. Young Pat was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament Grade School and Edgewood High School, where he competed in football, basketball and Edgewood's first ever hockey team. His size, spirit and competitiveness were assets to the sports in which he competed.
After high school Pat began work in the trucking industry, successfully building his own business. In 1994 he married Vicky Wilson and welcomed two children, Darby and Jake. For many years their family enjoyed the beauty of the north woods of Wisconsin at their cabin in Mercer.
All who knew Pat understood his capacity for wit, love, fun and laughter. Sadly, they also understood the struggles he faced.
Pat is survived by his beloved children Darby and Jake and former wife Vicky, his loving mother Mary Lou, sister Ann (Roach) Haase and brothers Terry and Mike Roach, brother-in-laws Lee Haase and Dan Consigny, nephews Joe, Nate, Brad and Tim as well as a son Christopher Bourque and grandson Curtis.
Pat was preceded in death by his father, Brig. General Patrick M. Roach and his youngest sister Ellen (Roach) Consigny.
A funeral service for Pat will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 1128 St. James Court, at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2012 with a one hour visitation just prior to the mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his children's education fund and mailed to 626 Chatham Terrace, Madison, WI 53711.
Special thanks to all our friends and family.
