Ruth Kathryn Gordon
July 25, 1916 - December 3, 2012

MADISON - Ruth K. Gordon, age 96, passed away Monday, December 3, 2012 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg.

She was born on July 25, 1916 in Stoughton, WI, the daughter of Emmet Gordon and Molly Weigel Gordon Kiel. She graduated from Stoughton High School, Madison Business College and Evanston Hospital School of Nursing.

She was employed at the University of WI Registrar's Office, Meriter and St. Mary's Hospitals and retired from Central WI Colony. She also served in the Navy during WWII. She was a former member of the Business & Professional Women's Club of Madison, the WI State Nurses Association and Madison Women's Club. During retirement she was a volunteer with The American Red Cross, Meriter Hospital and RSVP. She was an active member of the West Side Senior Center and Bethel XYZ Senior Program. She also enjoyed traveling and playing cards.

She is survived by nephew, Gordon Hart (Nancy) of Edgerton, niece, Trudy Hart-Stace (Connie) of Stoughton, great nieces Robin (John) Kneebone and Darcy (Doug) Clary, great nephew Barry (Penny) Hart and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister Ethel and brother-in-law Harold Martin, her sister Elizabeth and brother-in-law Rodney Hart.

Memorials may be given to Agrace Hospice of Madison. There will be graveside prayers said at St. Ann's Cemetery in Stoughton, WI at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 with a gathering to follow.
