In loving memory of

A. Annette "Ann" Beer
September 29, 1923 - December 9, 2012

Annette "Ann" Beer, age 89, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Agrace HospiceCare.
Ann was born in September of 1923 in a log cabin near Merrill, Wisconsin, the daughter of Milton and Estella (Heath) White. She spent her childhood in Merrill, Milwaukee, and King, Wisconsin and graduated from Waupaca High School. She attended Oshkosh Business School where she trained to be a stenographer.
Ann was united in marriage to Donovan Beer on May 6, 1944. They lived in Milwaukee while Don attended Marquette University and Law School, and then moved to Madison, eventually building a home in Orchard Ridge to raise their family.
Ann was a devoted member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She was active in church groups and enjoyed volunteering for Loaves and Fishes. Ann was part of a church prayer chain, always taking notes in shorthand while receiving the prayer requests on the phone. She loved playing bridge and was in many bridge groups. She also enjoyed bowling, baking cookies, and nurturing her summer tomato plants and her beautiful African violets. She was a voracious reader and loved a story with a happy ending.
Ann's greatest joy was her family, and she was especially proud of her five grandchildren. She was an enthusiastic grandmother, proudly attending every sporting event, concert, and graduation. Ann is survived by her four children, Don Jr., Aarick (Gretta Wing Miller) Beher, Linda (Tom) Kloosterboer, and Lori (Rob) Rusch. She will also be dearly missed by her five grandchildren, Molly Kloosterboer (Matt) Groose, Amy and Bryan Kloosterboer, and Natalie and Skyler Rusch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; brother, Ben White; sister, Vivian Savage; and stepsister, Fern Danielsen.
A memorial service and celebration of Ann's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5701 Raymond Rd, Madison, with the Rev. Sheryl Erickson officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Ann's family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Peter Idsvoog and his staff for the wonderful care given to Ann for the past 21 years, and the staff at Agrace Hospice for their care in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Ann's memory to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711.

"I am sorry I was unable to attend the memorial service for Ann. My condolences to Ann's family. Ann was a wonderful, sweet, lovely, cheerful person, and I loved talking to her at neighborhood gatherings. The old neighborhood won't be the same without her."
