"I had the pleasure of meeting Scott 4 years ago at a rehab facility in Malibu. We came in at the same time along with 6 other people. He was so full of life and hope. I am happy to say we got sober together & we all had a great time doing it. It wasn't always easy, but Scott was kinda the leader of "our group." We all would go to meetings, Starbucks & the beach together. He was always talking about his family, his sister & her children, what he wanted to do with life & he was always was very focused. Scott was funny, full of life & great to be around. He loved working out, his music, driving fast of PCH & pretty girls! He had a heart of gold & he was a very good friend. I am happy to say I am still sober today & will always keep him in my thoughts & prayers. I learned so much from Scott & I can say I am better person for knowing him. I know God is keeping him safe. ~"

"Scott gad the spirit of a good brother. Always the protecter He was joyful and loved his music... seemed part of his process in his daily life. He shown twinkling eyes and a bright smile that would light up any room. He was filled with energy for life. He not only loved and honored his family but enjoyed them. These days close to his passing has left anyone who knew Scott even a little in sadness. Shop owners, beach walkers, and neighbors are all feeling the shock and loss. Our hearts bleed for this family. There is a special star shining down upon us now and it is "sterling". May God cradle your soul Scott. I hope Jack was there at the pearly gates to meet you as you both passed months apart in the same place. He'll fill in until your own pup arrives. My deepest sympathy to his parents,..his loving, strong and kind mother, his self made and soft hearted dad, his brother and as a sister myself to his dear sister whom he spoke so kindly and adoring of whom I know must be in terrible pain. May God have mercy on your hearts and may the memory of this bright intelligent and highly creative soul light the heavens forever. "

"I'll miss you my friend. I remember when Scott was growing up and I use to pick him up from school with his friend and Scott would put in his tape from Snoopp Doggy so loud that one time I had to stop the car on the side of the freeway to turn it down and he would turn it back ip again, those were good times. When I worked at the hotel he would always give me the biggest hug. You will always have a special place in my heart.
Love you Scott, "

"I have been a friend of the Sterlings for almost 25 years.I got to know Scott very well over the last 12 years and spent a lot of time talking with him on many occasions at Clippers games,Family summer holidays in Malibu and the Las Vegas NBA summer league. He was a great guy and very personable.I will always remember his wit and charismatic smile. His dream one day was to help run the Clippers with his Brother In Law Eric when the next generation takes over way in the future. When he was focused on things he accomplished great things and had great discipline.About 2.5 years ago I got him involved in a Malibu real estate and business venture so he could really blossom and do his own thing in addition to all his other goals in life that he was involved in.He showed up to many meetings and was always very punctual and professional. He always had something intelligent to add to the equation.I feel so terrible that his life was cut short. He was a late bloomer and had so much to do and achieve in his bright future.I hope everyone remembers Scott with the respect I have for him because I really got to know him and see a lot of his great qualities that others may not have had a chance or privilege to experience. Many of my fondest memories are also when Scott would many times show up at a Clipper game and come over to say hello to his Dad DTS. I will always remember DTS smiling and giving his Son Scott a warm hug and a kiss on the cheek!!
My love and deepest sympathies go out to DTS and Shelly and the rest of his close Family and friends.Although I am in Singapore and Indonesia and will not be there on Sunday I feel like I will be there because of all the fond memories of Scott's personality and warm smile and kindness.Scott here is to you and when the day the Clippers soon win the NBA Championship and they are handing your Family the Trophy you will be there on the podium with them and be part of a hard fought journey.May you rest in peace my friend!!
With Love and Warm Regards,
Lawrence"
