Michael Allen Minde was born January 16, 1952 in Ames, Iowa and was the son of Marion and Irene Rosedale Minde. Michael grew up in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, living on a dairy farm and attending a one room schoolhouse until the family moved to LeGrand. He was a 1971 graduate of LDF High School and later attended Calmar Technical College. Michael was united in marriage to Kathy J. Siemsen on June 16, 1984 in Dillon, Iowa. Michael worked for Valspar Paint Company in Garland, TX, was a past member of the United Paper Workers Union and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Richardson. He was a huge Dallas Stars fan but his favorite past time was attending Joshua's high school and college football games at Arkansas and later Texas State University and Brionna's high school and college soccer games at Texas A&M-Commerce. The kids could pick his voice out of the cheering -oftentimes yelling at the refs! He enjoyed the many family vacations which all created great memories. One of his favorites was swimming with the stingrays in Grand Cayman while another was riding the Olympic bobsled run in Calgary.
Michael is survived by his wife, Kathy J. Minde, and daughter, Brionna Minde, both of Richardson, TX; son, Joshua Minde and his fiancée, Abby Taylor, of San Marcos, TX; brothers, Dale (Cassandra) Minde of Holton, KS; Mervin (Janet) Minde of Marshalltown, IA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kevin and Pam Siemsen of Marshalltown, IA. He will be greatly missed by his loyal dog, Gabriel, the trio of orange tabbies, Anthony, Annabel, and Dakota, granddog, Bear, and grandcat, Tucker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Irene Minde, and his mother -in-law and father-in-law, Harlan and Norma Siemsen.
"May God wrap you in his loving arms."
"Kathy, Pam let me know of your loss. I know that Mike will be missed. You are in my thoughts at this time."
"Kathy, we are so sorry to hear about Mike's passing. Lynette remembered when you and I went to a TEI meeting in Washington DC and while we worked at the conference, Mike and Lynette went on a marathon sight seeing walk throughout the Capitol. "
"Dear Kathy, We simply have no words to convey how saddened we were to hear of Michael's passing. The news does remind us, once again, that life isn't always fair and that bad things do happen to good people. You and your family have been a part of our lives for a very long time and we have certainly enjoyed watching all of you grow and prosper. Michael surely will be missed by all, but you and your children have a lot of the future before you and we know you will live it well. "
"Kathy & family--I am so sorry for your loss. It was good to see you tonight (although under the circumstances, and you were right that we should quit meeting like that--I was afraid to say it). This probably isn't appropriate here but I'm going to post it anyway--and I think it will bring a smile to your face--I can't believe you remembered Illya Kuryakin. Great memories (for me) of when we were kids and although we've lost touch over the years I'm glad you've been blessed with a great life. The next time you're in Iowa let me know and maybe I can be included in the traditional Happy Joe's experience!!! Prayers are with you."

"Kathy and children, I'm so sorry to learn of the sudden loss of your husband and father. Living across from the cemetery, I wondered who would be laid to rest so near your parents. I checked the Fry website only to learn of Michael's passing. He was the same age that Loren passed on to his final resting place. May you cherish the memories you created and take one day at a time as you try to move forward. May God bless you and continue to hold you in the palm of his hand. "
"Kathy, I could not believe my eyes when I read today's newspaper. My family is praying that God holds all of you in his arms at this time, our thoughts are with you all. Jan, Ken, Elsbeth, Mike, and Noelle Collins "

"Kathy, Josh, and Brionna, we were all deeply saddened to hear of Michael's passing. For Heather and I especially, it brought back a sad memory of my dad's passing. We had been engaged for two months when he passed. He was at our wedding in spirit, and we know that he has been smiling down on our family every day since, and has been Mark and Nikki's guardian angel through all of their athletic endeavors. We know that Michael will be yours, and your children's, guardian angel as well. May you find comfort from your family, your friends, and your pets (with their God given ability to provide unconditional love), in this, your time of sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless, Michael, Heather, Mark and Nikki Thordsen"
"Kathy, I'm so sorry to hear about Michael's sudden death. Please know that you, Josh and Brionna and the others in your family are in our thoughts and prayers"

"I am shocked and saddened to hear about Michael' s passing. Kathy, you, Joshua, Brionna, and all the family are in our prayers at First Presbyterian. I lost my first husband to a sudden heart attack on Christmas Day many years ago so I understand how difficult this is for you. I hope we can talk when you get back to Texas. With much love, Jo Bowen "
"Was so sorry to receive the call from Dale letting Janet and Merv know of the passing of Michael. Our heartfelt love, sympathy and most of all our prayers will be with you and your family. May you find God's loving presence supporting you as you experience this very difficult time of your life. We love you. LaVerna and Dick Warden"
"In Wisconsin as three young boys, we often played baseball together for fun. Once in a while we even got Dad to play, too! It was a lot more fun with four players! In Iowa we all helped grow vegetables in our big garden. Then we all helped pick and sell them by the highway. The tree of us boys were like the three musketeers. We had to fend for ourselves because we were left alone a lot. We counted on each other. As adults we each went our own ways. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kathy, Joshua, and Brionna. May God hold you close at this time as you reflect on your good, shared times together."
"Mike was at our house several times while he was going to school at Calmar. He worked hard trying to better himself, and we were proud. I can remember when he was born and vacations to Wisconsin and even a snowstorm going to the house one Thanksgiving. You will be missed."
"To my sister Kathy, niece Brionna & nephew Joshua, Words cannot express the heartfelt sorrow I possess today. Reading through Michael's obituary I had tears welling up in my eyes making it hard to type this. I know how proud he was of his two children and their athletic prowess and accomplishments. You gave him many hours of enjoyment watching you play your favorite sports; always cherish those memories and, in the future, play your best because I know his spirit will still be watching you. In fact, like the obituary says, I'm betting you can still hear his voice rising over all the rest, cheering you on. Kathy, it's not fair that you and the kids should have to endure 3 deaths in just over 2 years, Irene, Mom & now Michael. Certainly God is testing you and your faith, steering you towards a loftier goal. What that is, no one knows at this time. All you can do is take each day he gives you and live it/love it to the fullest. Since my brush with cancer I've found this to be much easier to do. Facing one's own mortality has a way of doing that. Similarly, Michael's passing should instill feelings that our time on Earth is a gift, not to be taken lightly or for granted. Rejoice in God's plan for each and every one of us and praise him for all our blessings. Please know that Pam & I are here for you in these trying times. We will comfort you and mourn with you, hopefully, helping you get past this latest trial. We love you all. Kevin & Pamela Siemsen "
"Sorry to hear about the death of Michael. All of the Rosedale cousins have many memories of our large family gatherings and all the laughs we had together. I do remember the visits to the Wisconsin dairy farm for family vacations. Also fond memories of the Minde's living next door to us on Highway 30. May God bless your family."
