"What a gentleman. What a gentle man. We were introduced to Dan and Tammy years ago through mutual friends, and our friendship took off. We always enjoyed our time with Dan, because he was such a calm and positive spirit. He was perpetually busy in his private life, but he was always able to see the brighter side of things. Honestly, I cannot recall a time when Dan didn't offer a positive view of events. For example, as our friendship with Dan and Tammy grew, we were in the process of slowly renovating our Madison home. I was a novice woodworker, and Dan (the master carpenter) gently praised me for my attention to detail. He was too kind! We remember Dan, also, for his strong sense of fun. He knew how to have a great time ... and he did so. There were very few conversations with Dan in which he didn't offer that million-watt smile and a good laugh. He was centered, focused, sincere, and fun. What a great guy. Dan's passing has challenged us both to live life more fully and to love more openly. We were reminded by this good and gentle fellow that life is fragile and fleeting. We have been diminished by Dan's loss and will remember him fondly for the remainder of our days. Thanks for all of the smiles, Dan! Our love goes out to you Tammy."

"Tammy,
I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Daniel's death. My heart goes out to you. I am sending you my love and prayers. I am also sending them to all those who know you and knew or were touched by Daniel. I can't say I really knew Daniel well but in the little time I spent with him I immediately loved him. What a sweet and gentle man. He really loved you, that was so obvious. And your love for him was also very clear. My impressions of Dan were that he desired to connect with all living things, be they two legged or four legged. He didn't want to waste time and yet seemed to walk through life in an extremely patient way, taking it in fully, quietly, and deliberately. Much love to you.
Grace

"Our hearts are very heavy and we are left to wonder why some wonderful individuals are taken from us much too soon. We are so very thankful that our paths in this lifetime crossed with Dan & Tammy. Sadly, we had not seen them recently, but always knew that when we got to see their magnetic smiles, hear their laughter, and witness their zest for life, these were ingredients for a great time! Tammy, our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you, as well as Dan's family and wide circle of friends. His radiant smile and gentle spirit live on with all of us that were fortunate enough to know him. "

"I to grew up with the Moodie family and have known him all his life. He was a great guy with a smile that could make everyone smile. I remember when Dan and Tammy came to help our family get through our tragic times. His heart was broken for all of us, and today my heart breaks for my second family. Dan will be missed in so many ways by so many people. The one thing I am certain about is that Mom, Dad, & Jeff all came to welcome him to heaven and they are with him now. Hugs. "

"Growing up next door to Dan I have known him all of my life. Dan was my friend, my neighbor, my brother. Although I have not seen him in a while I know that if I could we would sit and talk and BS just like old times. Dan was a bright soul that will truly be missed. My heart goes out Tammy, all his brothers and sisters, and Don and Ann, and the rest of his family. I will be there to see him off and to help support and comfort the Moodie family as best I can. Shine on my brother, my friend, my neighbor"

We will always cherish our memories with Dan, the horse roping vacations, New Year's Eve riding the horses while drinking champagne, Dan roping Tony like a calf and of course, dancing at the gates at MWHF. This world will not be the same without Dan, we will miss you. Tammy we hold you tight in our hearts and will always be here for you. "Tammy,
There are no words that can express my deepest sorrow for your loss....Dan was a kind, caring beautiful soul....a hard working fun loving guy who absolutely adored you....a nicer guy one could not meet and coming from a gay woman, that is saying a lot. My wish is that only more boys and young men could grow into the type of man Dan was....loving husband, loving son, loving brother and uncle, exceptionally hard worker, lover of horses, dogs, cats and all animals....and friend to all he met. If there is a heaven, he is certainly there...and I am certain he will always be with you in spirit Tammy......Thanks to both of you for always taking care of our Golden Retriever Emma Rose....There is a hole in all of our hearts with the passing of Dan....but Emma Rose will miss him the most.
Love,
Anne
