Adeline Bernazzani
June 13, 1920 - January 20, 2013

Adeline Emma Antonetta Bernazzani, 92, of Weston, FL passed away on January 20, 2013 of natural causes.

Adeline was born in Providence, RI to Angelo and Anna (Ruocco) Torre on June 13, 1920. She grew up in Boston, MA, and had lived in South Florida since 1971. Adeline left school in the ninth grade for work first as a fish packer and then a factory stitcher. She married George Andrew Bernazzani on March 7, 1943. They were married on a three-day pass, as George was serving at that time as a US Army corporal during World War II. They remained married for 52 years until his death in 1995. As an adult, Adeline excelled at a myriad of jobs; she was a dressmaker, a nurse's aide, a salesperson, and even a security guard for Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in her later years. She also sold some of her exceptional baking from time to time.

Family and friends were Adeline's passion and delight. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George; her beloved brother, Frank Torre and his wife, Gladys; sister, Emma Glowka; brother, Joseph Torre; sister, Sheila Torre; brother-in-law, Edward Bernazzani; brother-in-law, Andrew Bernazzani; sister-in-law, Mary DeFeo and her husband Fred, sister-in-law Freda Torre and grand-dog Suzy Sandals.

Adeline is lovingly remembered by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Thomas Dolan, and Mary and Roger Sandals; grandchildren Tara, and her husband, Todd Pollock, Thomas Dolan and his wife, Dawn, and Matthew Dolan; great-grandchildren Jonah Pollock, 7, Luke Pollock, 4, Ryan Pollock, 3, and Cate Pollock, 3 months; beloved brother, Pat Torre and his wife, Jeri Reidy; beloved sister, Philomena Bernazzani; brother-in-law, John Bernazzani and his wife, Elizabeth; brother-in-law, Louis Joseph Bernazzani and his wife, Ann; sister-in-law, Mildred Bernazzani; brother-in-law, William Glowka, goddaughter, Delia McKenna; grand-dog, Sami Sandals and many, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Davie-Cooper City location of Fred Hunter Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at St. David Catholic Church in Davie on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Patrick Naughton of St. Gregory Catholic Church officiating. Burial/Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the wonderful staff at The Westchester of Sunrise Assisted Living Facility and to Hospice by the Sea, for their exceptional care of Adeline. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice by the Sea, 1531 W Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486

"Our dear sister-in-law will never be far from our hearts. She was very kind and loving to me and our family our entire lives. When the Torre's met the Bernazzani's it was a great match..we will have memories of East Boston and Hyde park to last forever....I'll always remember how Adeline loved to dance with me..she was talented, she could do anything, draw, sew, make shoes, cook, bake, dance and more...you are all in our prayers"
