Freddie Martinez, of Sheboygan, formerly of Fredonia and Cedarburg, passed away Tuesday morning, January 22, 2013 at Meadow View Manor in Sheboygan. He was 77 years old. Freddie was born March 2, 1935 in San Antonio, TX, the son of Ventura Martinez and Catina Garza. On November 30, 1957, he was united in marriage with Penelope Doman in Illinois. She preceded him in death in 2008. For many years, Freddie worked at Tecumseh Products in Grafton. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and classic cars. He is survived by his two children: Tina Martinez of Hamilton, MT and Federico "J.R." (Lori) Martinez of Grafton. He is further survived by grandchildren: David (Shannon) Calenberg, Taylor Calenberg, Mike Merkel, Dennis Merkel and the late Andrew Calenberg, sister Goya Martinez of San Antonio, TX, other relatives and friends. Private graveside services will be held at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery in Mequon. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Ozaukee County Humane Society.
