"I was the one who got to see "the child" in Hal . . . I designed and built his custom wine cellar and as I went through that process, it seemed as though I was building his "candy store". Most people knew Hal as a serious & successful businessman, But, I knew Hal as a wine enthusiast or "wino" as we call ourselves. Hal would always want to talk "shop" with me about fine wine and would always bring up a fine wine called "Harlan Estate". One of the most prized and celebrated wines in his collection. After the project was completed, I gave Hal a gift that he opened-up inside his newly completed custom wine cellar. It was a bottle of his favorite wine, Harlan Estate, and it was personally signed by the winery owner and visionary of such a great wine: Bill Harlan, "To Hal, Bill Harlan" - Hal, knowing how much of a gift that was, turned to me and hugged me for about 30 seconds; of course I hugged him for the full length of that embrace because, I knew what that meant to Hal. That someone understood his passion for fine wine. I wanted him to have something really personal and special. That was my way of letting him know how well I understood his love & passion for fine wine. I was told that Hal took that bottle with him to the great vineyard in the sky . . . With much love & affection, Hal; may you Rest In Peace my friend."

"Words can not describe what a wonderful man Hal Weinerman was. His legacy will always live on. He was a very special man. I have many memories of Hal during my employment at Grant & Weber from 1998 to 2004. He and his partner Gene Grossblatt gave me an opportunity and I will always be greatful for that. He was a man of determination. He was a man that cared dearly for his family and friends. People often may have not gotten a chance to know the real Hal Weinerman, but I am grateful that I did. Besides his family and friends, I think I was the only employee to have a picture with him that was in his office. He was a great individual who will truly be missed. Thank you Weinerman family for the love that you showed me during my employment. It is something that I will always hold dear to my heart."

"Hal was a wonderful man, who loved dearly his family, friends and business Grant & Weber. I knew Hal from working for him at Grant & Weber and feel I had a glimpse of the Man behind the business when I witnessed him around his family. I have so much respect for Hal and the whole family. One of my cherished memories was when Hal went on vacation to Hawaii with his family on year. He came back from the trip and came to my office I thought to discuss how the WC department was going and business. To my surprise, he brought me a shell from Hawaii. He got the shell from the hotel (the cleaning people left them on the pillow). lol.. This gesture of kindness really touched my heart and to this day I still have that shell in my China Hutch at home. It is among my treasured gifts from family and friends. Hal was tough and strong in the work place but he also let you know in his way when he approved. Hal will be missed by many and those that knew him should feel blessed. Rest in Peace Hal... My prayers are with your family, friends and Grant & Weber. Respectfully, Elke "

"Hal defined the meaning of mensch...love and devotion to his beloved Mona and his blessed children and grandchildren. Giving of himself professionally and personally to his community, he was respected and loved by those lucky of us to know him and call him friend. His embrace of life and his grasp of what made a wine and cigar great is what I will treasure about this kind and sweet man the most. Fair winds and following seas Uncle Hal and to all good men who went west."
