Betty Jean Busch

Betty Jean (Mason) Busch, 72 of Tioga, Illinois, died 7:45 pm, Monday, February 18, 2013 at her home with her children by her side. She was born on December 24, 1940, in Mesa, Arizona, a daughter to Henry and Georgia Lagate Ross. She was of the Christian Faith and a member of the Moose Lodge in Ft. Madison, Iowa. Betty was a hard worker and very devoted to what she did. She worked many jobs before becoming a nurse, but home health care was her passion. She loved flowers and gardening, crafts and feeding the birds. She loved to travel, but she was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She is survived by her special friend, Darrel Guthrie; five children, Cynthia Mason and her husband Lee of Keokuk, Iowa, Karen Frakes and her husband Russell of Elvaston, Illinois, Harold Mason, Jr. and his wife Kelly of Seymour, Indiana, James Mason and his wife Marybell of Tioga, Illinois and Grace Mason White and fiancé Lewis Huffman and his three children of Hamilton, Illinois; four step-children; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her dog Louie who has been by her side. ex-husband, Harold Mason, Sr. and her husband, James Busch; a sister, Georgia Tripp; a daughter at birth, Rhonda; granddaughter, Barbara Masterson; a niece, Kim Baumbaugh; and a nephew, Marvin Tripp. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street, Keokuk, with Rev. Joel Slaughter officiating. Burial will be at Scandinavian Cemetery in rural Keokuk, Iowa. Friends and family will gather from 10:00 am to 1:00 am, Saturday, February 23, 2013 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center located at 917 Blondeau Street. Memorial may be made to Arms of Angels or Humane Society.
