Beunita Jane Krall

Beunita Jane Gilbert Krall, 87, passed away peacefully at Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton IA, on February 25th, 2013. Visitation will be held Friday March 1, 5:30 - 7:00 pm at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11:00 am. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. The daughter of Charles Francis and Cora Marie (Barton) Gilbert, "Beunie" was born January 14, 1926 in Ft. Dodge IA. Her family moved to California when she was a young child. After graduating from Fullerton Junior College, she returned to Iowa to attend the University of Iowa College of Nursing and upon graduation began her career as a RN at the polio ward of University Hospitals and Clinics. She was united in marriage to Robert James Krall at St Wenceslas Catholic Church in Iowa City IA on June 22nd, 1951. Beunie later worked as a school nurse in Riceville, before becoming a stay at home mom with her children. The family also lived in Corning and Adel, IA and moved to Tipton in 1964. spending time at their cabin in Cedar Bluff. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Athenaeum club, a state of Iowa high school gymnastics judge, and an election day volunteer official. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Brad) McQuillen, Shawnee KS, granddaughter, Meghan, (Jamison), and great granddaughter Madelynn Herdrich of Carmel IN, grandson, Joe McQuillen, Denver CO, and granddaughter, Kasey Krall of Norfolk VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert, and son, James. Memorials may be made in Beunita's behalf to St Mary's Church Tipton, or Cedar Manor employee fund.
