Mr. Gordan L. Clubb, 78, of rural Burlington died at 11:35 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009, at the Emergency Room of Great River Medical Center.
Born May 23, 1931 in Harper, he was the son of Peter and Elizabeth Clark Clubb. On August 11, 1957 he married Janet Cochrane in Oskaloosa.
Mr. Clubb was a Millersburg High School graduate and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a postal clerk for over 30 years.
Mr. Clubb was a member of First Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, playing cards and was a Yankee fan.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Clubb of rural Burlington; two daughters, Yvonne (Jeff) Moen of rural Dixon and Sandra (John) Peterson of Oquawka, Illinois; three sons, Brian Clubb of Wilton, Bruce (Carrie) Clubb of Burlington and Gregory (Candace) Clubb of League City, Texas; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Clubb of Douds and Larry Clubb of South English; three sisters, Doris Owings of DeWitt, Peggy Derby of Richland and Joan Grimm of What Cheer; his mother-in-law, Helen Cochrane of Oskaloosa and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, two sisters, three brothers and his beloved Peanut preceded him in death.[more]
