Leslie Eugene Whitmer MUSCATINE, Iowa--Leslie Eugene Whitmer, 55, of Muscatine, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 25, 2013, at Trinity Muscatine. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013, at Calvary Church, 501 W. Bypass 61 in Muscatine. Burial will take place in Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at the church. Jeffrey S. Nichols Life Tribute Funeral and Memorial Services, Muscatine, is caring for the arrangements. Les was born on April 11, 1957, the son of Leslie Edward and Walyne Kay Rock Whitmer. He married Patricia M. Howerton on October 1, 1982, in Muscatine. He was a graduate of Muscatine Community College and had worked as a tool and die maker at HON. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Patty Whitmer of Muscatine; two sons, Christopher E. Whitmer and wife, Candice, and Matthew J. Whitmer of Muscatine; a step-son, Joshua L. Bartenhagen of Muscatine; a daughter Megan N. Whitmer of Muscatine; one grandson, Christopher Ethan Whitmer; three step-grandchildren, Kylie M. Adams, Jayden L. Bartenhagen and Alissa D.
