Henry Zallar "Hank"

Born into eternal life Tuesday, October 04, 2011. Age 93. Beloved husband of the late Lois (Nee Neilon). Loving father of Meredith (Gary Padgette) Zallar, Gretchen Zallar and Beth Zallar. Proud grandpa of Josh (Sara) and Andrew Zallar. Also loved by other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents; John and Johanna Zallar, brothers; Dr. F.J. Zallar and Edward Zallar, sisters; Josephine Reishus and Mary Pike. Henry was born and raised and then proceeded to raise three daughters in Biwabik, Minnesota. Hank was a naval aviator during WWII. He then spent 32 years as an officer in the Naval Reserve while working for St. Louis County Veterans Services as a Veterans Service Officer retiring as a Department Supervisor. Hank was a longtime member of St. John's Catholic Church in Biwabik, MN. He was a life member of Gilbert, MN VFW Post, and the DAV in Virginia, MN and the Military Officers Association. He achieved the 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus. Past member and commander of American Legion in Biwabik, MN. In 2002 he and Lois moved to Milwaukee to be closer to family.
