Lois Millie, 97 of Newcastle passed away on Monday, September 7, 2009 at the Elms Health Care Center in Ponca, Nebraska. Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M. Friday, September 11, 2009 at Congregational United Church of Christ in Newcastle with Pastor Gary Kimm officiating. Burial will be in Silver Ridge Cemetery in rural Ponca, Nebraska. Visitation with the family present will begin at 5:30 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca. On line condolences may be sent at www.mohrfuneralhome.com. Mrs. Millie, the former Lois Cook was born July 4, 1912 in rural Newcastle. She graduated form Newcastle High School. She married Clyde Millie March 11, 1933. The couple lived on a farm south of Newcastle until Clyde passed away in May of 1975. She moved to Newcastle and lived there until June, 2007, when she went to the Elms Health Care Center. She was member of the Congregational United Church of Christ at Newcastle and the Rebekah Lodge #196.
