ate training in the United States for several young Latvian surgeons, who lived in Ingrid's house while they attended advanced courses which would allow them to return home and provide modern surgical techniques and a higher level of care than had been available during Soviet times. Ingrid enjoyed tennis, water skiing, and downhill skiing with her family and friends. She and her husband shared many interests, among them travel, social events with friends, and ballroom dancing. Ingrid was an avid reader, in both Latvian and English, and liked to write poetry (but never told anyone). Ingrid was the wife of the late Alfred Jurevics. She is survived by her three children, Vivian Solomon (David), Maris Jurevics (Susan) and Alda Licis (Maris), and her six grandchildren, Michael and Andis Solomon, Lucija and Maksis Jurevics, and Zigurds and Nikolajs Licis. Visitation at the Funeral Home on Saturday, March 31, at 11:00 AM until time of the Memorial Service at Noon. Memorial contributions can be made to the "Sveika Latvija" program of the American Latvian Association ("ALA").
