Alvin (Al) Gigot, 87, Ashwaubenon, passed away on February 26 at St. Vincent Hospital. Alvin was born October 11, 1925 in the Town of Lincoln (Kewaunee County), to the late John and Anna (VanDrisse) Gigot. He married Bernice Kinnard on July 1, 1950 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Lincoln. He graduated from Algoma High School in 1942 and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946. He farmed on the family farm in Lincoln and at his own farm in Cooperstown before becoming a realtor. In 1960 he co-founded Province Realty and worked at the company until his retirement. He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Ashwaubenon and was an avid fan of Ashwaubenon High School sports. He enjoyed reading the newspaper and watching sports of all kinds, especially the Green Bay Packers. He will be deeply missed by his children and grandchildren and will be fondly remembered for his quiet strength, quick wit and sense of humor. Nothing was more important to him than family. survived by nine grandchildren; Derrick Thebo, Scott, Robin (Charles) Bedard, Matt (Jenni), Danny, Chris, Kalyn, Jon and Alex; brothers and sisters-in-law, Emiline Gigot, Jeanne Gigot, Vernon and Betty Kinnard, Dale and Rose Mary Kinnard, Lilly Mae and Gerald Cravillion, Sam and Rose Marie Lefevre, Mary Jane Kinnard and Emil Vandermause. Alvin was preceded in death by his wife, parents, father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Lillian Kinnard; son-in-law, Tom Thomson; brothers, Elmer Gigot, John (Mary Jane) Gigot and Lewellyn Gigot; sisters Mabel (Emil) Vandervest, Evelyn (Harry) Fabry and Agnes Gigot; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold, Lloyd and Joseph (Betty) Kinnard, Veronica (Roy) Leudtke and Gladys Vandermause. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on March 1 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, Green Bay. Prayer service will take place at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 2270 S. Oneida St., Green Bay on Saturday, March 2 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Entombment will take place at the Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Nativity of Our Lord Parish or St. John Homeless Shelter.
