and had been active on the Jackson County Board of Review, Maquoketa Library Board, Maquoketa Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Maquoketa Utility Board. He was a past member of the Maquoketa Lions Club and had been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Maquoketa. He was a Mason for over 50 years and a member of the Maquoketa Masonic Helion Lodge #36 AF & AM, where he had served as past Master in 1982 and 1983. He also was a 32nd degree Scottish Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies in Clinton, Iowa. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Virginia "Jean" Dyer of Maquoketa, IA; children, Jeff (Rebecca) Dyer of Raeford, NC, and Joan (Gordon) Meloche of Manchester, MI; 6 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
